In the science of communication we recognize the existence of several types of communication that are commonly done.
These types of communication are intrapersonal, transpersonal and interpersonal communication.
In this discussion below, we will discuss in full what the three communication definitions are.
Intrapersonal communication or intrapersonal communication is communication with oneself with the aim to think, reason, analyze and reflect.
When we want to solve a problem, make a decision, or look for cause and effect, we will interact with ourselves what is good, what is bad, and what we can do to solve the problem.
When you want to buy an ice cream in a shop, you see there are many choices of ice cream flavor in the store.
Then you think to decide what you want to feel, whether you want to try new flavors or buy your favorite taste.
Being able to dialogue with yourself, shows that we are able to recognize and understand ourselves.
That way we can learn how we can observe and give meaning (intellectual and emotional) to our environment.
Interpersonal Communication is communication carried out with other people.
Communication involving two or more people.
The purpose of this communication is usually to share or share information, opinions, ideas, invite, offer something, etc.
Can be done either directly (face to face) or with the media.
One function of this communication is to anticipate after evaluating the response or feedback.
For example, after what we will do after knowing the person we are talking to is less comfortable being invited to talk.
Examples contoh poster such as the interaction between humans in real life, the first example when you and your friends discuss a lecture material that is difficult to understand, express each other’s opinions about the material.
The second example is communication that occurs in classroom teaching and learning activities between lecturers and students.
The third example when I have a problem, I always talk (chat) with my parents to find a solution.
Chatting is interpersonal communication because it is done between one person and another that allows direct feedback.
Communicating can also be done through cyberspace or by using the internet, such as chatting through your social media accounts such as via Gmail, Facebook, Skype, and other social media.
Transpersonal Communication is communication that occurs in a person’s spiritual domain or can be said to take place in a collective unconscious that contains the element of God.
The purpose of transpersonal communication is to raise self-hood awareness, improve spirituality, self-actualization and others.
Examples of transpersonal communication are prayer, worship, self-reflection by seeing deficiencies in ourselves and correcting them, doing meditation, self-reflection, religious rituals, or other means of communicating with “higher powers”
So, the conclusions in transpersonal communication are all humans can determine about each other’s spiritual.
Where all humans have the freedom to embrace the religion they believe in.
So, in transpersonal communication it tends to be vertical, which means prioritizing spiritual relationships with God.
Unlike intrapersonal and interpersonal communication which is more likely to be horizontal, which means prioritizing human relations (not that in this sense, humans do not necessarily forget their spiritual potential).
